From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Sophomore outfielder Annie Wennerberg (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon) was honored on Wednesday night after earning 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-America honors.

"Its been a great opportunity to have both Annie and our program recognized at the national level," said Head Softball Coach Josie Henry. "We had a very strong year, and we're proud that Annie is able to represent our program and our university with this honor."

Wennerberg, University Athletic Association co-Player of the Year, First Team All-UAA Selection and First Team NFCA All-Region honoree, has posted one of the best years in the history of Case Western Reserve University softball.

Wennerberg led NCAA Division III with 20 home runs, shattering the previous CWRU single-season record of 10.

Wennerberg also broke the single-season school record for runs batted in with 60 through the regular season. The sophomore also led the way for the Spartans by winning a team-high and UAA third-best 15 wins on the mound with a team-high 91 strikeouts.
