Washington Softball Honored By NFCA For Work In The Classroom

The Washington University in St. Louis softball team had eight student-athletes named to the 2013-14 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar Athlete Team, as announced by the Association.

In addition, Washington U. received NFCA All-Academic honors for the fifth straight season and 12th time in school history.

Those honored include: Stacy Berg (3.539), Paige Biles (4.000), Sydney Caldwell (3.600), Brooke Hofer (3.781), Maggie Ingell (3.957), Amanda Kalupa (3.858), Kelsey Neal (3.960) and Adrienne White (3.900). Student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale for the 2013-14 academic year are recognized as NFCA Scholar-Athletes.

As a team, Washington U. posted the highest team GPA in the University Athletic Association (UAA) and ranked fifth in NCAA Division III. The Bears posted a team cumulative GPA of 3.55 for the 2013-14 academic year.
