Washington University in St. Louis junior pitcher Annie Pitkin has been selected as the Louisville Slugger National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Pitcher of the Week, as announced Wednesday by the Association.

Pitkin, who also earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Pitcher of the Week, picked up a pair of victories on the mound and did not allow a run in 9 1/3 innings pitched Saturday at the Warrior Spring Fling in Conway, Ark. She struck out seven and allowed just one hit in five innings in a 7-0 win over Westminster College in game one, and then tossed 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing one hit with six strikeouts in a 13-5 win over host Hendrix College in game two.

Pitkin struck out 13 and did not walk a batter in the two wins, improving her overall record to 3-1 with a 1.47 earned run average.
