15 UAA Student-Athletes Named NFCA All-Region Selections

15 UAA student-athletes were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region Teams.

Six players from UAA champion Emory University earned Atlantic Region recognition, headlined by junior pitcher and UAA Player of the Year Brittany File being named to the first team. Sophomore first baseman Ashley Powers, sophomore second baseman Janelle Turnquest, senior outfielder Alyssa Pollard, and senior catcher/third baseman Melody Carter all garnered second-team honors. UAA Rookie of the Year Cassie Bacca was named to the third team.

Five players from Washington University were selected to the Midwest Region team with senior pitcher Annie Pitkin and junior outfielders Hannah Mehrle and Janet Taylor each being chosen to the first team. Senior first baseman Brooke Hofer was named to the second team and first-year shortstop Taylor Arends earned a spot on the third team.

Senior third baseman Madison Sullivan of Brandeis University was named to the New England Region first team, while senior shortstop Kayla Kibling of University of Rochester was named to the first team in the Northeast Region.

Senior shortstop Kristin Lopez and senior outfielder Devan Parkison of University of Chicago received third-team honors in the Great Lakes Region.
