UAA Announces Softball All-Association Team; Brittany File Named Player of the Year

Junior pitcher Brittany File of Emory University was named UAA Softball Player of the Year as the 2016 UAA All-Association Team was announced.

File, who was also named 2016 UAA Softball Championship Most Valuable Player, finished the regular season with a 30-2 record with 1 .59 earned run average. She struck out 273 batters in 175.1 innings and limited the opposition to a .162 batting average.

First-year shortstop Cassie Baca was named UAA Rookie of the Year after leading the Eagles with a .442 batting average in the regular season. She scored 36 runs and drove in 26.

Emory head coach Penny Siqueiros and assistant coaches Casey Chrietzberg, Larry Ray, Chuck Lewis, and Katy Neal were selected as UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.
