Bears' Taylor Arends and Anna McKee Named to Regional All-Tournament Team

Sophomore shortstop Taylor Arends and junior pitcher Anna McKee of the Washington University in St. Louis softball team was named to the 2017 NCAA Division III Pella, Iowa Regional All-Tournament Team, as announced Sunday by Central College. 

Arends batted a team-best .500 (4-for-8) with a walk and three stolen bases and recorded a hit in all three games for WashU. She went 2-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases in a 2-1 upset win over No. 9-ranked Central College in an elimination game on Saturday.

McKee posted a 1-1 record with a 1.50 earned run average with two complete games. She allowed two earned runs in a 2-1 loss to No. 25-ranked Coe College on Friday, and limited No. 9 Central to just one earned run in the victory Saturday.

WashU finished the 2017 season with a 27-14 overall record and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in the last 16 years. The Bears also captured their 10th University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship in school history.
