Anna McKee of Washington University Named Fastpitch News Preseason All-America

Senior pitcher Anna McKee of the Washington University in St. Louis softball team has been selected as a 2018 Preseason Honorable-Mention All-America, as announced Tuesday by Fastpitch News.

PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM

McKee, the 2017 University Athletic Association (UAA) Pitcher of the Year, posted a 17-4 record with a 1.70 earned run average with six shutouts and 16 complete games. She also earned first-team all-UAA and second-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region honors, and was named to the NCAA Division III Pella, Iowa Regional All-Tournament Team. 

McKee ranked first in the conference in six categories: shutouts, wins, complete games, appearances (30), innings pitched (148.2) and strikeouts (162). She was named the Fastpitch News National Pitcher of the Week on May 2, and also was a four-time UAA Pitcher of the Week honoree.

WashU opens the 2018 season at home on Sunday, March 4, against Webster University. Game one is set for Noon. The Bears finished the 2017 season with a 27-14 overall record and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in the last 16 years. WashU also captured its 10th UAA Title in school history.
