Wesleyan College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Penny Siqueiros as the next Director of Athletics and Head Softball effective September, 2018. Coach Siqueiros brings to Wesleyan over 20+ years of successful collegiate softball experience in the southeast and Georgia, taking over a program that saw their first appearance in the USA South postseason in program history. 
 
"It is with tremendous excitement to serve as Wesleyan's next Athletic Director.  I want to thank President Fowler for her support of our innovative ideas and new vision, one that embraces a deep commitment to growth, professionalism, and stability. As we embark on a pathway of building our programs to new levels, we are driven to recruit athletes that are excited to rise up and join us on our historical journey.  Our goals are to connect with our faculty and administration in a synergistic manner, which will open a unique pathway for us to come together for the betterment of our student athletes."
 
In accepting the position, Siqueiros additionally commented, "What an exciting time for Wesleyan Athletics!  We are entering into a new era of building upon our historical USA South Championship appearances (Soccer and Softball).  Our future looks incredibly bright! We are close to landing an award winning Equestrian Coach and are eyeing several accomplished candidates to successfully fill our position of Head Basketball Coach. We are laser focused on yielding someone that is passionate about elevating our program to new heights, which is achievable... I am thrilled to work arduously for our current staff. They are a signifant  reason why I jumped on board to embrace Wesleyan College as I enter a new and exciting chapter in my career."
 
Penny Siqueiros comes to Wesleyan and Macon, Georgia after a successful 20 year career at NCAA Division III member Emory University in Atlanta. With the Eagles, Siqueiros grew the program from its inception into one of the elite softball programs in the NCAA across all divisions. At Emory, Siqueiros managed the program to four softball World Series, five NCAA regional championships, 1 NCAA Super Regional title, 16 NCAA Tournament berths, and 11 UAA conference championships. In her career, she has been honored several awards, including NCAA Division III Regional Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in 2002, 2006, 2007, & 2016. She has coached and mentored 14 All-Americans during her time with the Eagles.
 
Prior to Emory, Siqueiros coached at Florida State University as the outfield and hitting coach. During her time in Tallahassee, the Seminoles finished 13th in the nation for team battle average in 1995 and 15th in 1993. On the FSU staff, she developed 1 Rookie of the year and several All-Americans. Additionally, she also has worked with the Disney Institute as a Program Coordinator.
 
Siqueiros holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education & Masters in Athletic Administration from Florida State University. Siqueiros currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her fiance.
