The University of Chicago women's basketball team won its fifth-straight game on the strength of another good shooting performance in an 85-72 victory at Brandeis University on Sunday.

The Maroons (14-8 overall, 8-3 UAA) has now scored at least 80 points in a game 11 times this year. The Judges fell to 12-10 overall and 6-5 in conference.

After an early 2-2 tie, UChicago grabbed the lead and held it for the final 38 minutes of the game. Junior forward Ellie Greiner nailed a pair of three-pointers to make the score 10-6. She made her third trey at 23-15 to finish the half with a team-high nine points. The next six points for UChicago came on layups, which pushed the lead to 10 points on junior guard Claire Devaney's lay-in.

Sophomore guard Paige Womack had the hot hand in the final two minutes of the half, scoring the team's final seven points. The Maroons went into the halftime break with a 36-28 advantage. Senior guard Maggie Ely and Womack both had seven points as UChicago shot 40.5 percent on field goals. Brandeis made 42.9 percent of its shots, but did not make a three-pointer and also turned the ball over 14 times.

The visitors started the second half strong by making six of their first seven shots. Five different players scored in that time, which was capped by Greiner's three-pointer at 50-34. Ely followed up the run by scoring six points in-a-row on a three and a trio of free throws.

UChicago kept up its hot shooting from beyond the arc by making 6 of 10 three-pointers in the second half. A 12-2 run pushed the lead to 22 points with six minutes remaining on the clock and UChicago cruised the rest of the way.

The Maroons made 11 of 23 from beyond the arc and have now tallied at least 10 treys in four of the past five games. Greiner led the charge by converting all five of her three-point attempts and senior guard Julie Muguira made three of her own. Five different players reached double figures in points.

Brandeis held sway on the boards 39-34 and turned the ball over 23 times compared to 18 turnovers by UChicago.
