UAA Announces Women's Basketball All-Association Team; Lisa Murphy of Carnegie Mellon and Alexandra Leslie of Rochester Named Co-Players of the Year

Junior center/forward Lisa Murphy of Carnegie Mellon University and sophomore forward Alexandra Leslie of University of Rochester shared UAA Women's Basketball Player of the Year honors as the 2015-16 All-Association Team was announced.

Murphy ranks second in NCAA Division III in scoring with 23.7 points per game and is the nation's leader in field goal percentage by nearly seven percent, connecting on 75.2 percent of her shots from the field. She also leads the UAA in rebounding, averaging 11.2 rebounds per game. In Association play, Murphy leads the UAA in scoring (20.6 ppg), rebounding (11.6 rpg), field goal percentage (70.3 pct.), and blocked shots (1.6 bpg).

Leslie is averaing 15.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game and helped the Yellowjackets earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship. In UAA play, she averaged 15.1 points and 9.6 boards per game.

Junior guard Kaitlyn Read of NYU was selected as UAA Defensive Player of the Year and first-year forward Olariche Obi of University of Chicago was named UAA Rookie of the Year.
