From Case Western Reserve University Athletics
By virtue of having one of the top-25 grade point averages among NCAA Division III women's basketball teams during the 2016-17 season, the Case Western Reserve University Spartans were named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2016-17 season is the 22nd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
Case Western Reserve finished the year with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.513, the 24th-highest among all NCAA Division III teams during the 2016-17 campaign. CWRU was one of just two University Athletic Association schools to receive the award, along with New York University.
The Spartans finished the 2016-17 season with a 13-12 overall record.
