Sophomore Ashley Oldshue led four double-figure scorers with 20 points in leading the Emory women's basketball team to a Friday afternoon victory over Huntingdon College in the Cancer Awareness Tournament on the campus of Piedmont College.  The Eagles upped their record to 8-1 following an 86-33 decision over the Hawks who slipped to 6-2.

Oldshue ended the contest successful on six-of-14 field goal attempts and all eight of her free throw opportunities en route to her eighth double-digit scoring performance of the season. Sophomore Azzairia Jackson-Sherrod and senior Fran Sweeney each added 11 points with Jackson-Sherrod leading all players with a career-high 14 boards.  Senior Shellie Kaniut contributed 10 points to the cause.

After building a 16-13 lead after the first quarter, Emory blitzed Huntingdon in the second stanza, outpointing the Hawks by a 22-0 count to take a commanding 38-13 lead into halftime.  Huntingdon misfired on all 14 of its field goal tries while Sweeney knocked down a pair of triples during that run.  The Eagles kept up their offensive pressure in the third quarter, putting up a 24-6 spot that increased the cushion to 62-19.

For the game, Emory connected on 42.9 percent (30 of 70) from the floor compared to Huntingdon's 18 percent (9 of 50).  The Eagles drained a season-high 22 free throws in 29 opportunities with their 75.9 percent mark their second-highest showing of the campaign.  Emory finished the afternoon with a decided 51-33 advantage on the glass, the ninth time in as many outings this year it enjoyed the edge in that category.
