From Washington University Athletics

The St. Louis Surge Women's Professional Basketball Team is making Washington University in St. Louis its new home. The team will play all of its home games in WashU's newly renovated Field House, located in the Athletic Complex. The Surge's first home game is set for Saturday, June 10, at 7:05 p.m.

"We are excited about partnering with the St. Louis Surge," said WashU Interim Director of Athletics Chris Peacock. "This is a great opportunity to broaden our relationship with the St. Louis community while serving as a host to the Surge and their fans."

The Surge is scheduled to host five home games this summer, in addition to winning the bid to host the WBCBL national tournament this year.

The team is excited about the partnership with the university; with the Surge's owner and general manager, Khalia Collier, stating "the venue is exactly what the Surge has been looking for. We are excited to be partnering with WashU and to provide our fans and sponsors with a new Surge atmosphere!"

The release of this news comes with several other exciting updates, including the release of the team's 2017 schedule and the unveiling of their new website. You can find additional details about the team at www.stlsurgebasketball.com.
