A balanced scoring effort allowed the University of Chicago women's basketball team to keep rolling along in a 93-64 victory against Earlham College at the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament on Wednesday night.

The Maroons (8-2 record) are riding a six-game winning streak. The Quakers fell to 1-9.

Earlham held the lead for less than a minute at the start of the game. It was all UChicago from then on. Sophomore guard Miranda Burt's three-pointer at 5-4 gave the visitors the lead for good.

The first quarter played out closely as the two sides exchanged buckets. Sophomore guard Mia Farrell's layup right at the end of the period put her team ahead 23-20. Farrell and Burt scored seven points apiece in the opening 10 minutes.

The Maroons began to distance themselves in the second quarter with 13-straight points. By halftime, they held a 42-34 lead.

UChicago's second half featured 26 points in the third quarter and 25 points in the fourth as the Quakers could not keep up the offensive pace. A 13-2 run at the start of the third put the Maroons up 55-36 and they never looked back.

Turnovers were a big source of scoring for the Maroons, who tallied 30 off 25 Earlham miscues. Points in the paint were similarly lopsided at 58-30. UChicago won the rebounding battle 44-37.

Farrell's 16 points led the way, while junior forward Olariche Obi posted her third-straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Burt tallied 13 points and three steals. First-year forward Meaghan O'Hara submitted a career-high 14 points to go with five rebounds.

As a team, UChicago shot 47.1 percent from the field and 4 of 19 from three-point range (21.1 percent). The Maroons converted 23 of 34 free throws (67.6 percent).

Earlham shot 34.6 percent from the field, 20 percent from long range (1-5) and 65.9 percent on free throws (27-41).
