Alexandra Leslie and Lauren Deming have been a formidable combination for the women's basketball team at the University of Rochester since they first stepped onto the campus in late summer, 2014. They continue to be honored for their achievements.
 
Leslie has been named First Team All-East Region and Deming named Second Team All-East Region after voting conducted by D3hoops.com. It is the fourth straight All-East honor for both women.
 
In the first week of March, Leslie and Deming were named First Team All-University Athletic Association.
 
They were the top two scorers and rebounders for Rochester this year, combining for 28 points and more than 15 rebounds per game.
 
In 29 games (all starts), Leslie averaged 14. 7 ppg., and 7.8 rpg. She shot .521 from the floor, .813 from the foul line, and hit five of six three-point attempts. She finished second in assists with a career-best 67, blocked 51 shots, and recorded 27 steals.
 
Deming started all 29 games as well. She averaged 13.4 ppg., shooting .446 from the floor, .670 from the foul line, and made 23 of 88 three-pointers (.261). She averaged 7.5 rpg., had 55 assists (third behind point guard Brynn Lauer and Leslie), blocked 32 shots, and recorded a team-high 49 steals.
 
She scored her 1,000th career point on January 12, 2018 against Case Western Reserve University. Nine days later, she scored a career-high 35 points in an overtime victory at NYU. It was the fourth-highest point total for a women's player in school history. The win was the 500thcareer triumph for UR head coach Jim Scheible. He just finished his 27th  season as a women's head coach, the last 19 years at Rochester. His overall career mark is 509-226. His Rochester record is 368-155.
 
Leslie finished fourth or higher in 16 career categories. She is second in points (1,848), scoring average (16.8 ppg.), blocked shots (145) and tied for second in total rebounds (992). She started every game of a 110-game career.
 
Deming finished seventh in career points (1,205), 13th in career rebounds (682), and 13th in career steals (128).
 
Rochester finished the regular season at 21-4, 11-3 in the UAA (second place). The Yellowjackets were ranked #1 in the East for the four weeks of the regional poll conducted by the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee.
 
UR hosted the first two rounds of the playoffs, defeating Stevens, 69-57, in the first round, Marymount University, 53-42, in the second round. UR advanced to the Sectional semifinals (aka Sweet 16) at Amherst College on March 9-10. The Yellowjackets defeated RIT, 59-55, in the semifinals. They were eliminated from the tournament by top-ranked Amherst, 62-38. The tournament run to the Elite 8 marked the second time in three years that Rochester advanced that far. It was the fifth Elite 8 appearance in school history.
 
Rochester finished 24-5. The 24 wins are tied for second-most in single-season history. The Yellowjackets were 24-6 in 2002-03 (Final Four), 25-5 in 2003-04 (Final Four), 24-4 in 2008-09, and 24-5 this season. The four-year won-lost record was 80-30 with three straight NCAA playoff appearances (sophomore through senior years).
