Mia Farrell and Olariche Obi of Chicago Earn D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Status

University of Chicago women's basketball players Mia Farrell and Olariche Obi were recently selected as 2018-19 Preseason All-Americans by D3hoops.com. Both Maroons placed on the Honorable Mention All-America list.

Farrell was a D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region pick in 2017-18. The junior point guard led the team in scoring (15.6 PPG), three-point percentage (.451) and free-throw percentage (.844). Farrell made the second-most free throws in school history (135), while ranking third in three-point percentage and fifth in free-throw percentage. She was also named First Team All-University Athletic Association.

Obi was similarly a 2017-18 D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region and First Team All-UAA honoree. The senior forward filled up the stat sheet, pacing the Maroons in rebounding (11.2 RPG), field-goal percentage (.476), steals (2.8 SPG) and blocks (0.9 BPG). In the paint, Obi collected 15 double-doubles and recorded 19 games with double-digit rebounds. She currently ranks third in school history with 708 career rebounds.
