Brandeis University first-year fencer Jessica Morales won gold in the sabre competition on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Conference (NEIFC) Fall Invitational. She emerged from pool play as the third seed after finishing 5-0 with indicators of +23. Morales defeated an opponent from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the quarterfinals and the second seed from Boston College in the semifinals. She defeated classmate Maggie Shealy, 15-11, in the gold medal match.
