From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The Tartans are currently tied for 12th-place after carding a season-best team score of 330 Friday, March 18 on the par-72, 5,801-yard course. The field is comprised of 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally.
Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) tied her career-best round and school record with a four-over par 76 Friday afternoon. She currently is tied for 18th individually in a field of 120 golfers. Freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) entered the clubhouse with a 79.
Sophomore Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) carded an 85 while senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) shot a 90 and sophomore Isabelle Tseng(Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) tabbed a 92 for the first round.
