Carnegie Mellon Competes at Opening Round of UAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday, March 12. The 36-hole, two-day event is being held at Red Tail Country Club in Sorrento, Florida, with the Tartans firing a team score of 364 on Saturday.
    
Washington University leads the field following the first day of competition after entering the clubhouse with a 322.  
        
Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) led the Tartans with an 82 while freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) finished two strokes behind Kitahara with an 84.
    
Sophomore Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) entered the clubhouses with a season-best round of 97 on Saturday. Senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) carded a 101 and sophomore Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) finished with a 104.
