Kristin Lee of NYU Selected ECAC Women's Golfer of the Month

Kristin Lee of the New York University women'sgolf team has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Golfer of the Month for September. The announcement was made on Monday, October 6.

The sophomore has led the Violets to a sweltering start in the fall protion of their season. As a team, NYU has placed either first or second in all three of its tournaments to this point, including a record-breaking first-place finish at the season-opening St. Lawrence Invitational on September 5-6.

Lee began 2015-16 with a first-place finish out of 50 competitiors at the SLU Invite. She shot a two-round 145, which set the NYU program record for lowest 36-hole tournament score. Moreover, her second-round two-under 70 also set the program record for the lowest single-round score. Following her performance, the Irvine, CA, native was named University Athletic Associaiton (UAA) Athlete and Liberty League Performer of the Week.

Then, after a weekend off, Lee helped the Violets placed second (621) at the NYU Invitational at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, NY, on September 19-20. The sophomore tied for 17th out of 67 golfers with a two-round 161.

Lee closed out the month by helping her Violets to another second-place finish (635), this time at the Mount Holyoke Invitational at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, MA, on September 26-27. She was once again NYU's low-scorer and tied for third out of 83 golfers with a two-round 154. Lee puncuated her weekend with a second-round even-par 72. The sophomore was again recognized by the Liberty League during the week following her solid performance.

This is Lee's first-ever ECAC honor.
