#10 NYU Stands in Second Place at DIII Spring Preview

The New York University women's golf team, ranked #10  in the nation by GolfStat.com, finished the first round of the NCAA Division III Spring Preview on Monday, April 4, at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX.

The Violets shot 321 overall and are in second place out 13 teams. Texas-Tyler is in first at 304.

Alyssa Poentis led NYU in round one. The sophomore shot a 78 and is tied for fifth out of 71 golfers. Catherina Li also shot under the 80-stroke threshold with a first-round 79. The rookie is tied for seventh.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Kristin Lee is tied for 10th overall after shooting an 81 on Monday.

- Jenni Bluetling shot an 83 in the first round and is tied for 19th overall.

- Phoebe Zhao is tied for 31st with an 85.

- Competing as an individual, Mikeala Santos is tied for 43rd after notching an 87.
