Tartans Currently in Fourth Place after Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The Tartans are currently tied for fourth-place with the fourth-ranked team in the nation, Rhodes College, after carding a season-best team score of 319 Friday, March 17 on the par-72, 5,801-yard course.  The field is comprised of 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally.
    
Freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) is currently tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard after carding a career-best round of four-over par 76. The field is comprised of 120 golfers. Sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) sits two strokes behind Lui after firing a season-best round of 78.

Junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) finished play on Friday with an 81 followed by freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) with an 84. Junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) entered the clubhouse with a 95.
