From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team had three student-athletes named to the 2016-17 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization. Junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South), sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) and freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) received the honor for the Cardinal and Gray. The three marked the first in the three-year history of the program to be named to the team.

A total of 952 women's collegiate golfers were recognized from NCAA Division I, II and III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

The Tartans this past season won five tournaments and set three school records while breaking into the national rankings for the first time in school history, as they ended the year ranked 20th in Division III. Their first school record came at the Jekyll Island Collegiate when the Tartans broke the lowest three-round score with a 963. The Tartans then set a new single-round team score of 313 and two-round score of 631 at the Carnegie Mellon Spring Shootout held at The Links at Spring Church.
