From Washington University Athletics

Freshman Samantha Haubenstock of the No. 15-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team fired four-over 76 during the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Bay Oaks Country Club on Wednesday.

After two rounds of play, Haubenstock is tied for 10th place with six-over par 150 (74-76). She birdied on the par-5 seventh hole to pair with 13 pars, three bogies and one double-bogie.

"Sam has an uncanny ability to score even when not having her best ball striking days," said head coach Ellen Port. "She is competing well though and I expect her to continue this for the next two days."

Leading the way is the No. 6 ranked Christina Herbert from Bridgewater College with a one-under par 143 (74-69). The lowest round of the day came from Rhodes' Emily Salamy who shot four-strokes below par 68, moving into third place with 145 (77-68).

Haubenstock is still tied atop the leaderboard in stroke average on par-5 holes with a 4.75 average. She is also among the leaders on par-3's averaging 2.88 strokes.
