Carnegie Mellon University freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho/Idaho Falls) was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias Division III Women's Golf Rookie of the Month for March on Thursday, April 6. Lui earned two top-five finishes in three tournaments and led the Tartans to the title of the 2017 TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate during the month.

Lui shot an average of 80.3 in seven rounds during the month and started the spring with a fifth-place finish at the University Athletic Association Championships after carding a 36-hole score of 166 (88-78) on the par-72 Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida. She earned all-tournament honors for her placement.

Lui followed that with a second-place finish at the 2017 TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate where she led the Tartans to the team title. Her score of 161 (82-79) was one off the leader at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, South Carolina on the Morgan River Course

The freshman finished March by helping the Tartans to a sixth-place showing at the 2017 Jekyll Island Collegiate on the 5,801-yard, par-72 Indian Mounds Golf Club with a school-record team score of 963. The 54-hole event featured 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally. During the three-day event, Lui led the Tartans with a 235 (76-78-81) and tied for 11th-place individually in a field of 120 golfers. Her four-over par 76 on day one was a career-best round.

The honor for Lui marks the second time in three years the Tartans have had a player selected as ECAC Women's Golf Rookie of the Month, as junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) earned the honor for her play in March 2015.
