Washington University Holds Early 16-Stroke Lead at Olivet Labor Day Tee-Off

The Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team currently leads the eight team field at the Olivet Labor Day Tee-Off by 16 strokes after Saturday's action at The Medalist Golf Club.

"I'm really proud of the team, "said head coach Ellen Port. "The team did a very good job. They had excellent decision making and course management in a very tight and tough track."

WashU had four golfers post scores within the top 10 of the leaderboard including senior Jessica Wibawa's leading 2-over-74.  Sophomore Hanna Jia and freshman Samantha Haubenstock are tied for fourth with scores of 79.

WashU posted a combined score of 312 (+24) which lead the pack of Illinois Wesleyan (328), Olivet College (337), Hanover College (341), Cleary University (345), St. Mary's College (348), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (355) and Franklin College (367).

The final 18 holes will begin Sunday morning.
