From Washington University Athletics

The Washington University in St. Louis women's golf program shot extremely well as a group totaling a tournament low round score of 295, finishing just two strokes behind reigning national champion and host Rhodes College on the final day of the classic.

The Bears were led in day two by freshman Samantha Haubenstock's three-under-69, which ties her for the second best individual round in school history. She shares the spot with Hannah Buck who shot 69 during the 2011-12 season. Olivia Lugar's score of 66 in 2014-15 stands atop the list.

"It's been a goal of the team to be under 300," noted head coach Ellen Port. "It was a total team effort today and we are all proud of Sam for shooting her career best 69 today! We know we left a few strokes out there but it was really fun playing alongside last years NCAA champs, Rhodes College."

All five Bears in the starting lineup shot below 80 during the second round of the Rhodes Classic. WashU finished second overall with a total score of 603 (308-295), just two strokes behind Rhodes' 601 (302-299). Trailing the Lynx and Bears were Transylvania University (649), Franklin College (682), and Millsaps College (685).

Haubenstock placed second overall, behind Emily Salamy (74-69, 143) of Rhodes, after scoring a three-over-par 147 (78-69). Both Haubenstock and Salamy tied for the individual best round of the tournament, as they both shot 69 during the second day.

Chloe DiPetrillo tied for fifth, shooting 149 (76-73) while the rest of the Bears lineup finished with an average score below 80 strokes. Erin Drolet (74-78, 152), Jessica Wibawa (82-75, 157), and Emily Carnes (80-78) rounded out the lineup for the Bears. Meanwhile Drolet led the tournament with six birdies overall.

Haubenstock and DiPetrillo both earned All-Tournament status with their respective performances.
