Yedin Lui Matches Career-Low Round for Tartans at Jekyll Island Collegiate

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the second round of the 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Saturday. The Tartans fired a team score of 319 and are 10th after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 633 (314-319). The three-day event is being played on the par-72, 5,801-yard Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island with the field comprised of 23 Division III teams including 12 ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Sophomore Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) tied a career-best round on Saturday when she entered the clubhouse with a three-over par 75. The sophomore currently leads the Tartans with a 154 (79-75).

Freshman Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) carded a 79 and currently has a two-round score of 157 (78-79). Simpson recorded three birdies on the afternoon. Junior Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) carded an 81 and has a 158 (77-81).

Freshman Catherine Tianhong Yu (Dalian, China/Walnut) fired an 85 and has a 165 (80-85) while senior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) ended play on Saturday with an 84 and has a 36-hole score of 170 (86-84).

Carnegie Mellon had one individual play on the par-72 Oleander Course. Sophomore Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) has a two-round score of 163 (82-81).
