Samantha Haubenstock of Washington University Named WGCA All-American

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced the 2017-18 Division III All-American and the All-Region Teams Wednesday evening with four members of the No. 7-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team being honored.

Sophomore Samantha Haubenstock highlighted the Bears honors as she earned WGCA Second Team All-American honors in addition to All-Central Region honors. Senior Erin Drolet, junior Chloe DiPetrillo and freshman Gigi Garcia were also recognized with All-Region honors.

Haubenstock earned second team All-American honors for the second consecutive season. She earned the 13th All-American honor in WashU history and is the fifth individual to earn the accolade. Haubenstock ranks 13th in DIII with a 76.29 stroke average, which led the Central region. Currently she is tied for 11th at the DIII National Championships with a two round score of 157 (80, 77).

Chloe DiPetrillo

DiPetrillo competed in five tournaments during the fall, placing in the top-10 during every one, with a stroke average of 76.40. She fired in the 70s during eight of 10 rounds played and placed a season-best second at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic, 151 (72, 79). DiPetrillo is tied for 61st at nationals with a 36-hole score of 169 (81, 88).

Erin Drolet

Drolet ranked fourth in the region and 68th in Division III with an average score of 79.87. In 15 rounds of play, she totaled nine rounds of 80 or below. Drolet twice tied for fourth place in tournaments, including the Golfweek Fall Invite with a three round score of 227 (76, 75, 76). She is currently tied for 85th at nationals with a two-day score of 175 (93, 82).

Gigi Garcia

In eight tournaments played, Garcia averaged 78.59 strokes to rank fifth in the region and 30th in DIII. She had five top-10 finishes in the eight tournaments competed in during her freshman campaign. Garcia is currently tied for 71st at nationals with 172 strokes (87, 85).
