NYU Women's Golf in First Place After Opening Round of UAA Championship

Club in Palm Coast, FL, for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. This competition, which is being held Monday and Tuesday, March 12-13, is their first since the fall.

The Violets battled the rain and wind to shoot a 315 to finish first on the day, 14 strokes ahead of Carnegie Mellon University (329). Washington University in St. Louis trails in third place with a score of 334. 

Patty Treevichaphan is in the lead after shooting a 78. Jessica Wu, Alyssa Poentis and Arisa Kimura are tied for second place with 79's. 

"Anything under an 80 in these windy conditions is amazing," said Head Coach Brad Johnson. "I was very happy with the team's effort today."

RESULTS:

- Jenni Bluetling shot an 80 and is in sixth place.

- Ashley Tsoi is currently in eighth place after shooting 82.
