The Emory women's golf team closed out the first half of its inaugural season at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The 36-hole tournament, which was the final event of the fall for the squad, took place at the 5,851-yard, par-72 Coosa Country Club in Rome, Georgia.

The Eagles improved upon their first-day effort of 335 by posting a second-round 328, giving them a two-day stroke total of 663, which was good enough for 13th place out of 17 teams. No. 12 Oglethorpe University won the tourney with a 611 (304-307), holding off runner-up, DII Shorter University, by two strokes (306-307).

Pacing her fellow freshman teammates, Ksheera Jalakam recorded a three-over-par 75, which matched her lowest round of the season and gave her the honor of second-best score of the day, along with three other golfers in the field. The Texas native finished tied for 20th-place out of 87 competitors with 156 total strokes and was 12-over-par. In her fourth collegiate round, Lillian Knetter collected two birdies on the back nine and posted her finest round to date by finishing with a nine-over-par 81. Knetter found herself in a tie for 43rd-place with 166 total strokes. Jessie Ji and Alice Acosta produced identical score cards of 86 to cap off their tournament and ended up in 51st and 62nd, respectively.

Spring Hill College's Claire Landry and Oglethorpe's Sarah Hsu, both entered the final round at even-par and each followed up with four-over-par 76s to conclude with 148 total strokes and take home an equal share of first place.

Head Coach Katie Futcher's team will not tee off again until February 24th of next year, when they will travel to Austin, Texas for the Linda Lowery Invitational to open up the spring season.
