CHICAGO, Ill. -- University of Chicago head wrestling coach Leo Kocher will be honored with a lifetime service award by the Illinois Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on October 20.

Kocher is one of nine honorees at Sunday's banquet. He is entering his 35th year as head coach at UChicago and was also a standout collegiate wrestler at Northwestern University. During his tenure, Kocher has coached 21 All-Americans, including a pair of NCAA Division III champions, and has guided the Maroons to four top-15 team finishes at the NCAA III Championships. His wrestling squads have won 15 University Athletic Association (UAA) team titles.
