From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Case Western Reserve University finished third as host of the 2015 University Athletic Association Wrestling Championship on Saturday afternoon at Horsburgh Gymnasium.

No. 22 nationally ranked New York University (20-3) won the team title with a 2-0 record. The University of Chicago (7-4) was 1-1, and Case Western Reserve (6-8) was 0-2.

Three Spartans were 1-1 for the day, including sophomore Connor Medlang (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) and freshman Travis Alexander (Farmingdale, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran), who scored back-to-back decisions against Chicago at 133 and 141, respectively.

The Spartans remain at home to host the annual Si Ostrach Meet next Saturday, February 21. Action begins at 11:00 a.m.
