From NYU Wrestling

The New York University wrestling program kicked off its 2015-16 season on Friday evening, November 6, on the first day of competition at the Ithaca College Invitational in Ithaca, NY.

NYU will have six grapplers still competing in their respective championship brackets on Saturday. Additionally, another six are still alive in their respective consolation brackets. Overall, the squad is currently in seventh place with 17.0 points out of 12 teams. Springfield College currently leads with 39.0 points.

"Those six guys won the matches they needed to in order to advance to their respective championship-bracket matches," said NYU Senior Assistant Coach Corey Luce. "Overall, we thought more of our guys would be at this point tomorrow, so it seems we're not as prepared as we though we'd be. We're going to finish up business here tomorrow and then get to practice in order to be back to where our expectations see us and where we believe we should be."
