2015 UAA Most Outstanding Wrestler Patrick Sheehan Added as NYU Assistant

From NYU Wrestling

Patrick Sheehan has been hired as an assistant coach with the New York University wrestling program. His responsibilities will include working with the upper weight classes, traveling to competitions and providing technical instruction.

"I'm excited to have Patrick back with us," said Head Coach Bruce Haberli. "He's a young guy who can compete with our wrestlers on the mat and someone who brings a refreshing dynamic to the team."

A 2015 graduate of NYU's College of Arts and Science with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, Sheehan was a four-year member of the wrestling team.

As a senior captain during the 2014-15 season, Sheehan finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in the 184-lb. weight class, completing a 29-7 season and earning All-America honors.

During his collegiate career, Sheehan helped NYU win four consecutive University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 2015 UAA Championship.

Sheehan, who currently attends Brooklyn Law School, is a native of Honolulu, HI, and a resident of Brooklyn, NY.
