Nathan Pike of the New York University wrestling team finished the 2015-16 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships as the 133-pound National Runner-Up on Saturday night, March 12. The tournament was being held over two days at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pike, who locked up All-America honors by going 2-0 yesterday to advance to today's semifinal match, began Saturday with a 7-5 decision over Ryan O'Boyle of McDaniel College. With the victory, the West Covina, CA, native became the first-ever NYU grappler to advance to a national final.

"Nathan had a great overall tournament," said NYU Senior Assistant Coach Corey Luce.

In the final, Pike faced Devin Broukal of Wabash College, but fell in an 8-5 decision.

"He fell a little short in the finals, but know what he needs to do next year to bring home a championship," continued Luce.

As a team, NYU finished with 20.5 total points and came in 17th out of the 58 competing teams.
