CWRU Athletics Mourns the Loss of Si Ostrach

Case Western Reserve University and the Department of Physical Education and Athletics was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Si Ostrach, the Wilbert Austin Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Engineering at CWRU.

In addition to his success in the academic realm, including acknowledged by NASA as one of the 12 superstars of modern aeronautics, Dr. Ostrach had been a supporter of CWRU wrestling and its faculty liaison for 20 years, serving as a mentor to countless Spartan wrestlers and helping guide them through their athletic, academic and professional careers.  The Spartans have annual held a meet in January named after Dr. Ostrach, who was to be inducted into the Spartan Club Hall of Fame on Saturday.
