The sophomore duo of Bonsall and Lee-Lermer both took seventh place in their respective weight classes at the 2017 Wheaton Invite. They bettered those results on Saturday as both reached the third-place match.

Bonsall, who came in as the top seed at 157 pounds, faced off with three seeded wrestlers to close out his tournament run. He beat the No. 4 seed from Ohio Northern University 9-2, and followed up with a 7-2 decision over the No. 7 seed from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. In the third-place match, Bonsall dominated and scored a 16-1 technical fall over the No. 2 seed from University of Mount Union.

At 165 pounds, Lee-Lermer also secured a pair of wins in the morning session. He posted scores of 7-2 and 13-6, topping the No. 2 seed from Olivet College who had previously defeated Lee-Lermer on Friday. The sophomore ended up taking fourth place after absorbing a 6-3 loss to the No. 6 seed from Wisconsin – La Crosse.
