From Case Western Reserve University
Three student-athletes from the Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team have been selected to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Division III All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio squads.
Senior midfielder Leah Levey (Columbus, Ohio/Bexley) was selected to both the All-Ohio First Team and Academic All-Ohio First Team. Junior goalkeeper Abbey Smith (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) was tabbed to the All-Ohio Second Team, and junior forward Jessie Sabers (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) was named second-team Academic All-Ohio.
Levey, a four-time All-University Athletic Association selection and a two-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree, picks up her third-straight OCSA All-Ohio and All-Academic honor. The senior captain finished second on the team with 14 points on six goals and two assists. A four-year starter, Levey ranks tied for first in program history with eight game-winning goals and tied for fifth with 17 goals overall. She also started more matches (74) than any player in team history.
Smith garners her first OSCA All-Ohio accolade after an impressive inaugural season with the Spartans after transferring from the University of Miami (Fla.). The keeper finished third in the UAA with a 0.79 goals against average and fourth with 61 saves. Smith was also named to the All-UAA First Team.
Sabers earns her second straight OSCA Academic All-Ohio award as a biochemistry major. The award comes on the heels of being selected All-UAA Honorable Mention as she led the squad with 16 points and seven goals, a tally that was good for eighth in the conference. In just three seasons, Sabers ranks seventh in program history in both points (40) and goals (16) and is tied with Levey with eight career game winners.
