From Emory University Athletics

Former Emory University All-American Lauren Gorodetsky was named to the All-Southeastern Conference Team of the pro-am soccer W-League, after her first season with the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Gorodetsky, was selected as one of the four defenders to the all-conference team, and was the lone member of the Silverbacks to be honored.  She played in eight of the team's 10 games, totaling 720 minutes.

The W-League is the first and longest-standing women's soccer league in North America. The 2014 W-League campaign featured 25 teams in four regional conferences playing 10-12 regular season matches. Featuring current and former international and professional stars, the W-League also provides elite amateurs the opportunity to compete while maintaining their eligibility as college student-athletes. The league is recognized throughout the world for providing superior competition for female players, while offering affordable family entertainment for fans throughout North America.

Gorodetsky graduated from Emory as one of the most recognized players in NCAA Division III Women's Soccer history.  She was one of two defenders and eight players overall to be named a four-time NCAA Division III All-American by the NSCAA, and was the first women's soccer player in University Athletic Association (UAA) history to garner conference Most Valuable Player honors three times.  In addition, she was a two-time Capital One Academic All-American and received a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

After a 16-4-1 record and a trip to the round of 16 of the NCAA Championships last season, Emory will open its 2014 campaign on Friday, August 29th against Christopher Newport University in Norfolk, Virginia.
