From University of Rochester Athletics
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named
its All-Region teams recentley and one of UR's top players from
this season earned 1st Team All-East Region honors.
Senior Jessica Smith capped off her Yellowjacket career with a
fantastic season in which she scored 12 goals for the Yellowjackets
and finished with 24 points on the season. She was a force up
front in her forward position, scoring more than half of
Rochester's goals this season. In fact, no other player had
more than two scores in 2013.
For her efforts on the soccer pitch this year, Smith was awarded a
spot on the All-UAA team and was named 1st Team. During the
regular season, she topped the conference in goals and game winners
(five). Smith returned to the River Campus to finish classes
after serving our country in the United States Military for the
last two years.
