From University of Chicago Athletics

University of Chicago Athletics announced on Tuesday that Kelly Lindsey has been appointed as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach, joining Head Coach Amy Reifert and Assistant Coach Bannon Stroud on the veteran coaching staff.

"We are thrilled to add Kelly to our staff," said Reifert, who enters her 24th season as head coach at UChicago with an all-time record of 285-112-45, four UAA titles and 13 NCAA Tournament appearances. "She brings a wealth of experience at every level as both a player and coach. After an incredibly successful collegiate career at Notre Dame, Kelly represented our country on the U.S. National Team and also has enjoyed an already impressive coaching career at the collegiate and professional levels. She will be a tremendous resource for our student-athletes and adds greatly to our coaching staff."

Lindsey arrives at UChicago after serving as the Director of Coaching at the GH School for Healthy Living in Chicago since 2011. Her extensive coaching experience includes stops at four collegiate programs and one professional team. She was an Assistant Coach and then Interim Head Coach for Sky Blue FC in the Women's Professional Soccer league in 2009. After that stint, Lindsey spent two years coaching at University of California, Berkeley and was Associate Head Coach in 2010. She was also Head Coach at Saint Mary's College of California from 2006-08, as well as an Assistant Coach at nationally-ranked programs University of Texas (2004-06) and University of Colorado (2003-04).

As a collegiate soccer player, Lindsey was a four-year starter and two-time team captain at the University of Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish reached the NCAA postseason all four years and finished runner-up twice in the national championship match. Upon graduation, Lindsey was the No. 1 pick of the Women's United Soccer Association college draft in 2001. Her San Jose CyberRays squad went on to win the world championship that year and Lindsey was named to the Second Team All-Global Team.

Lindsey was a part of the United States Women's National Team at three different levels from 1995-2002, including the U-16, U-21 and Women's National Team levels. She received bachelor's degrees in economics and computer applications from Notre Dame.
