The Emory University women's soccer improved to 5-2 on the season winning their fourth straight game, edging Birmingham Southern 1-0 on Friday night at the Woodruff PE Center.
For the second straight game, the Eagles applied heavy offensive pressure and stellar defense and kept the ball on their half of the field for almost the entire game. Emory outshot the Panthers 29-1 (13-1 in shots on goal) and have outshot its opponents 61-1 over the last two games.
Jordan Morell provided the lone goal in the win as she launched a shot over the leaping BSC goalkeeper from inside the 18 in the 74th minute. The senior finished with a game-high seven shots with three on target.
Fellow senior Liz Arnold picked up her third shutout of the season, playing all 90 minutes in the win and stopping the lone shot that came her way.
