For the second-straight year, the University of Chicago women's soccer team took home D3Soccer.com's Midfielder of the Year award as three players were named to the organization's 2017 All-America team.

Junior midfielder Jenna McKinney took home the nation's top award for her position, a year after senior teammate Mia Calamari earned it in 2016. Calamari joined McKinney on the 11-player first-team and sophomore defender Mackenzie Peebles earned a spot on the third team.

McKinney led the Maroons (22-2) with 15 goals, six assists and 36 points. Even more impressive, the junior connected on four goals and two assists during UChicago's postseason run to the NCAA title game. The D3Soccer.com award adds to McKinney's many other 2017 honors, including her second-straight University Athletic Association Most Valuable Player award, the United Soccer Coaches Scholar-Athlete of the Year, in addition to spots on the USC All-America, All-Region, and CoSIDA Academic All-American teams.

Calamari concluded her UChicago career as one of the most decorated players in program history, finishing the season with six goals, 18 assists and 30 points. Her 18 assists were the second-most in all of NCAA Division III. In her four-year career, Calamari was a three-time USC All-American and finished as the school's all-time leader in assists with 58.

Peebles, also a USC Third-Team All-American, finished her junior campaign with five assists. A starter on a stingy back line for the Maroons, she helped the UChicago defense set new records with just seven goals allowed and a whopping 18 shutouts.

Both McKinney and Calamari were repeat selections on the D3Soccer.com All-America list after earning first-team honors in 2016.
