Emory University rising senior Danielle Darius, a member of the Women's Soccer team, will be a member of Haiti's Under-20 World Cup national team roster when the FIFA Under-20 World Cup kicks off later this week on August 5th in France.

Darius, who was invited to the Haitian National Team training camp back in May, was offered a spot on the World Cup roster following a solid showing at the camp.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup runs from August 5th through August 24th and will feature 16 countries from around the world. If Haiti is able to advance past the group stage, the team will advance to the Quarterfinal round on August 16th and 17th. Other countries competing in the 16-team field will be United States, Ghana, Japan, Korea DPR, England, France, Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, New Zealand, Brazil and Paraguay.

Darius is coming off a junior campaign in which she was named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team after registering a career-high tying three goals and one assist for seven points and helping the Eagles to a 10-7-1 overall record. She was the lone Eagle to make all 18 starts on the year, anchoring an Emory backline that held opponents to three shots or fewer in seven games and recorded nine shutouts on the season.
