Brandeis, Chicago, and Washington each won their sectional titles to reach the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals. The Judges and Bears will meet in one semifinal, while the Maroons take on Messiah College in the other semifinal with the matches set for Dec. 2… Jessica Morana (Brandeis) scored just 1:43 into overtime to send the Judges to their first Final Four in program history with a 4-3 win over top-ranked William Smith College… Hanna Watkins (Chicago) scored a goal in each of two games to help lead the Maroons to their fourth Final Four appearance in program history. The Maroons topped third-ranked Thomas More College 3-1 before playing 18th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to a 1-1 draw and advancing with a 6-5 win in penalty kicks. Watkins scored the tying goal in the 88th minute. Katie Donovan made seven saves against Thomas More, two against Pomona-Pitzer, and then stopped the final penalty kick… Megan Nicklay scored the only goal of the weekend in a 1-0 Bears’ sectional final win over second-ranked and previously unbeaten Trinity University. The Bears played 10th-ranked Hardin-Simmons University to a scoreless draw and advanced 3-1 in penalty kicks.
