The Maroons topped third-ranked Thomas More College 3-1 before playing 18th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to a 1-1 draw and advancing with a 6-5 win in penalty kicks. Watkins scored the tying goal in the 88th minute. Katie Donovan made seven saves against Thomas More, two against Pomona-Pitzer, and then stopped the final penalty kick… Megan Nicklay scored the only goal of the weekend in a 1-0 Bears’ sectional final win over second-ranked and previously unbeaten Trinity University.
