Neu's A Record-Breaker As Three Rochester Divers Meet NCAA Qualifying Marks

ITHACA, N.Y. - Three women's divers from the University of Rochester posted NCAA Division III qualifying scores on Saturday at the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational hosted by Ithaca College.

Freshman Danielle Neu (Hammondsport, NY/Bath Haverling) qualified on both the one- and three-meter boards. She also broke a 28-year old Rochester record in the process. Junior Carrie DeMoulin (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Menton) qualified on the three-meter board as did junior Joanna Wallace (Fairbanks, AK/Monroe Catholic).

Neu earned a score of 440.6 on the one-meter board. It broke the Rochester record score of 430.3 set by Kim Curtis in 1986. She finished fourth overall. On the three-meter board, Neu earned a score of 451.6 to finish fifth overall. It is a lifetime best score for Neu on the three-meter. She also earned the highest scores on one dive, recording three 'nines' on her inward dive in the three meter competition.

DeMoulin finished sixth on the three-meter board with a score of 423.55 (a lifetime best and an NCAA qualifier). She was eighth on the one-meter board with a score of 367.85. Wallace was seventh on the three-meter board with a 418.75, an NCAA qualifier and lifetime best. She finished sixth on the one-meter board with a 375.30.
