All-America Honors for Lauren Bailey, Rochester 200 Free Relay

One relay and one individual representing the University of Rochester women's swimming and diving team earned All-America honors on Thursday's day two action at at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving championships.
 
Junior Lauren Bailey earned a 10th place result in the finals in the 100 yard butterfly. She was clocked in :56.46. In the morning trials, she was 10th with her time of :56.22.  Overall, there were 48 swimmers in the event. Bailey's top 16 finish earns her honorable mention All-American honors.
 
Bailey also was a member of the 200 freestyle relay squad that earned the same type of honor - honorable mention All-America. This time it was awarded for a finish of 15th place overall, one one-hundredth of a second out of 14th place. The Yellowjackets were clocked in 1:36.13 for the Thursday night finals. In the morning, Rochester's quartet earned 14th of 29 teams in that event, swimming a 1:36.29.  Joining Bailey on the team were freshmen Khamai Simpson and Emily Simon along with sophomore Vicky Luan.
 
The 400 medley relay team of senior Karen Meess, freshman Alex Veech, Bailey and Luan just missed the top 16, ranking 17th and getting the first alternate spot for Thursday's finals.  That team swam a 3:51.30.

Freshman diver Danielle Neu saw her first action on the boards in the championships. Neu dove on the one meter board Thursday and totaled 374.70 points. She was just .25 shy of qualifying for a spot in the top 16 and diving in the finals Thursday night. On Saturday, she will dive on the three-meter board. 

With two days complete, Rochester has accumulated 25 team points. The Yellowjackets stand 18th of the 41 schools that have scored at least one point in the championships.
