MK Miller Breaks CWRU 200 IM Record on Day One of UAA Championship

Case Western Reserve University freshman Mary Katherine Miller (Baton Rouge, La./Saint Joseph's Academy) broke the school record in the 200-yard individual medley on day one of the 2015 University Athletic Association Championship at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center.

The Spartans rank seventh of eight teams competing with 193 points. Host and No. 1 nationally ranked Emory University is the team leader with 699 points, while No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis ranks second at 425.  

Miller swam a 2:07.31 during evening finals, breaking the record previously held by 2014 graduate Sara Tillie (2:07.33). 

Also reaching the podium for CWRU was a pair of seventh-place relay teams.

In the 200 free relay, freshmen Jennifer Eurich (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown Area) and Ellie Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills), junior Rebecca Pakradooni (Augusta, Ga./Lakeside) and freshman Inez Moore (Lakewood, Colo./D'Evelyn) finished in 1:38.24.

In the 400 medley relay, freshman Cassandra Laios (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) led off for Wilson, Pakradooni and Moore as the quartet touched the wall in 3:57.13.
