Austin Campitelli Named ECAC Championships Women's Diver of the Meet

Austin Campitelli, winning both the one-meter (492.70) and three-meter (296.70) competitions, was named the ECAC Championships Women's Diver of the Meet at Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, which are being held Friday-Sunday, December 5-7, at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, NY.

"We had dominating performances by the divers this weekend," said Donie. "It was a great way to finish off this half of the season."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Hannah Bergh, Elise Gibbs, Allegra Ingerson, and Isabelle Kitze set meet and NYU team records, posting a time of 7:40.37. Kitze set a new 200-yard freestyle team record with her lead-off time of 1:52.73.

- Kitze alco achieved NCAA-qualifying scores in the 100-yard freestyle (51.71) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.15), breaking the previous 100-yard freestyle team record of 52.85. She also participated on the record-breaking 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:35.94), breaking the 50-yard freestyle record with her lead-off time. The other 200-yard freestyle team members were sophomore Gibbs, junior co-captain Krista Traub and senior co-captain Emily Doerner.

- Doerner won the 100-yard backstroke (55.93), 200-yard backstroke (2:05.73) and the100-yard butterfly (56.37), achieving NCAA-qualifying scores in all three races and breaking the NYU team record in the 100-yard backstroke.

- Sophomore Katie Webber broke her own NYU team record for the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.08), and in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.44), achieving NCAA-qualifying times in both races.

"I couldn't be happier with our performance today. The team exceeded my expectation and I am really proud of how they competed," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "I am looking forward to finishing the meet up tomorrow with some more NCAA cuts and team records."
